What do you think about this lifted mud truck setup. 1995 z71?
I don't have some serious cash but i'm looking to play ball.
I have access to a big junk yard so i can find parts.here it goes
A 1995 z71 (1500)
42" Bogger tires set (400)
a 1978 ford 250 for the rear and front (500)
Frame will be extended down and maybe add a few leafs
So with the rear and front in will be able to go on the z71?
This is my first mud truck build (on road also)
what else do i need to do?
To many issues. The rear and front won't mount to the truck the 44 are to large for a simple 1500 motor to turn or even get you though the mud. Even attempted you will have a few grand to make this truck even see mud if it does it will just sink. You need a larger motor than the 5.3 a minimum of 10" lift for the tires the rear end doesn't mean squat a good 4.10 will do fine. Actually go ahead buy the truck and do your idea this is how EVERYONE else has learned here. When you blow the motor or sink the truck and need a Tacoma to pull you out you will re think your boyish ideas.
It will be a major project, unless you are a very experienced fabricator you will have to have a shop do the work and it will be very expensive. Would be better off staring with a older 4X4 one ton or 3/4 ton with a solid front axle
Sounds like a Really STUPID idea to me…
- Will I have issues with frame twisting with this setup? 1978 Datsun 280z, LS2/T56 swap from an '05 Pontiac GTO, stroked to 427 ci, forged bottom end, heads/cam/intake, approx. 550rwhp, Ford 9" rear end, 4.10 gears, 10 inch width wheels running 275mm tires, 8 point roll cage. Looking to be able to launch a decent wheelie on drag slicks and not twist the rust free frame.
- Solar panel on Ford E150 van JMC Tiara Package. Van came w own solar setup but its old and solar panel is tiny. Upgradn to 100w panel? Can I use the cables and solar meter etc (setup van came with) to power the renogy 100w panel? Or do I need to get bigger cables etc
- What do you think is wrong with my truck? I've a 2000 Ford Ranger and today for the first time it gave me trouble starting up. I had to crank it like three times before it actually started. The check engine light is on but I put coolant(and water) in it yesterday so it's not the coolant
- Help with car audio setup? I have a 2014 Ford Mustang. I'm planning on upgrading the audio though soon and I'm kinda new with upgrading my car audio. I was wondering exactly what I should be looking for when it comes to getting a more crisp, rich sounding audio and also a better punch when it comes to bass. *Lists are preferred!
