Loan company charged off auto loan, don't have pink slip. How do i sell vehicle now without the pink slip?
We have a 2001 ford f350, 7.3 diesel and the loan company charged off the loan but doesn't want truck back. How do i now sell the truck that the finance company doesn't want?
Having it "charged off" doesn't mean the debt goes away. You still have to pay the balance owed in order to get ownership.
Until you do so, you can't register or sell the vehicle.
The DMV is going to see the lien against the vehicle and won't release a title to you.
Charged off is an accounting term. It is not debt forgiveness and you don't get the title nor are you free to sell the car without paying them.
They won't talk to me about pink. Will Dmv give me title if i file for lost pink?
The should have released the pink slip to you. Keep calling till they do.
You could try filling out the "missing title" paperwork.
- Have 98 Ford Ranger, 4.0, 171,000 miles, auto trans with limited slip. I've owned truck since new and have changed trans fluid every 30-35 000 miles and have never towed anything. The majority of the 171,000 miles are interstate driving. The truck shifts fine with no jerking or slippage. What I do get is thump(s) in rear end when I come to a stop, as gears are downshifting. Do I need a new transmission? Any suggestions? I suppose it's a "clunk" I hear and feel when I come to a stop, not a thump.
