Ford 2003 F-250 Fluids
We got this truck 10 months ago, and I don't think anyone has done anything with the fluids since we got it,
I checked the fluids today after driving about 20 miles and back.
Trans fluid, and Oil dipsticks were completely covered, but the engine was hot so i didn't think much of it. But after 4 hours i checked again and it was the same thing.
Don't know much about engines but for the record, yes i did wipe the sticks first, and yes I was on flat terrain.
After 10 months Are they too full? Or could there be another problem?
Transmission fluid level should be checked with the engine running and at operating temperature. The engine should be off for oil.
It depends on how it is checked. My 2011 Honda civic tranny fluid is checked between 60 and 90 seconds when hot, after it is shut off. My '04 Dodge diesel is checked when hot and in drive. Get an owner's manual for it, Google for a download.
- What is the best exhaust system route to go on my ford 250? I have a 2008 ford f250. I'm wanting to remove my dpf filter and such. Cat and muffler. What all do I do to remove?
- Should I buy 2003 Ford f-250? I just saw a listing on a dealers website and they are selling a gasoline 2003 Ford F-250 with 196,000 miles (mostly highway miles) for $6,995 OBO, the truck has a 6 inch lift with mud tires and also comes with an camper shield. I would appreciate it of someone told me if the the truck is worth the money.
- Ford F-250 or Toyota Hilux? Which is better for exploring the Amazon and towing? I'm considering a 1999 version of either, I should be able to get parts for both as the Ford F250 was made in Brazil until 2012.
- Ford F-250 or Ford F-150? 2003 F-250 XLT Crew Cab, Fx4 package, 112k miles 6.8L V10 Triton. Or a 2006 Ford F-150 Lariat, Crew cab, 4x4, 120k miles 5.4L V8 Triton. Which one would you think is a better option? I'm not towing very often and when I'm my dad lets me use his truck. I'm talking more about reliability, safety, and best truck for a 18 year old male, (myself)
