Ford 1997 F250 rear brakes replaced but passenger rim heats up

Ford 1997 F250 rear brakes replaced but passenger rim heats up.

Okay are you having issues with the brake shoes actually expanding ( self adjusting ) to a point that you notice serious drag when you let off the gas. If the ABS proportioning valve Which is under the drivers side bolted to the inside rail of the chassis. When they are on there way out Sometimes the rear brakes will over adjust while driving The pulses from the ABS valve cause the brakes to constantly adjust them selves basically locking up your rear brakes. Thats the worst case scenario Maybe when the shoes were installed they adjusted them too tight But that would eventually go away as the shoes wear down a lil bit.During regular driving in stop and go traffic do you ride the brake pedal when your inching along in traffic The rim getting hot is or would be normal Just depends how hot there getting If you constantly have a issue whee it feels like the rear brakes are always being applied check the ABS valve. My best piece of advice would be to remove the rear wheels and do a visual inspection and maybe back off the adjuster a lil bit But if it starts binding again its the ABS valve for sure The rear brakes should only adjust when your in reverse and apply the brakes if there binding still… ABS proportioning valve even if there adjusted tight eventually they would operate normally But also what happens when the shoe is too close to the drum eventually it will ruin the shoe Also one more thing there's a primary and a secondary brake shoe one has a longer piece of material bonded to the shoe ( the greyish material bonded to the steel shoe ) So if the short shoe is where the long one should be That can cause binding issues too So make sure the primary and secondary shoes are in the correct position Good luck Usually its something simple and is easy to fix If you had them done in a shop Go right back and get it fixed but on there dime not yours Hey i tried to cover all the BASIC issues I have the same truck I only drive ford trucks So i have experienced the same problems myself I had the same problem Heat is normal Water sizzling from extreme heat off the rim is not For me it was the ABS proportioning valve No light goes on By the time the ABS light comes on the truck You getting towed By the way i'm service manager at FORD at a California dealership too Good luck

It's normaal
