Dream about California? - 1

I have never been to the West Coast, or even surfed before, but last night I dreamed I was living in a shack on a hill overlooking a beach. The hut didn't have lighting or glass in the windows, only fly screens, and only two rooms, with a bedroom in the roof upstairs. It was extremely hot, and I felt the urge to shoot the breakers. Outside the porch was a rusty brown Ford woodie, and on the beach the tide was out. On the horizon was an old square rig ship. Further down the beach was a small tiki bar and more beach huts similar to mine. Under a palm tree some blonde wahinis with flowers in their hair were listening to Surfin' USA on a transistor radio, and some surfer dudes were waxing their boards and waiting for the tide to come in. One of them did the surfer greeting as I walked past (clenched fist with thumb and pinkie extended). On the other side of the dunes some hodads in leather jackets were gassing up a cherry red deuce coupe, and more woodies and VW campers were approaching full of surfers ready to hit the waves.

What did this dream mean? I've never been to California or even been surfing but everything looked so familiar.

The dream was a premonition of what will maybe someday happen when you go to California.

You've been watching too many movies about surfing.

It's a hearts desire in you. Everybody has been filled with those images by media, it did something to you're psyche, made a part of you long for that. Or, a memory of a past life.

Well, your language and dream description come right out of a 60's or 70's movie, so I'm guessing you are not a teen. Maybe you are looking back on what could have been, or what should have been. Your description sounds really well written, well enough you could try writing a book. It's called a "wish-fulfillment dream."

  • With a few days to reflect, does Ford's story seem like someone relaying a dream? I'm being totally serious. "We were at some party, and you were there, and Kavanaugh was there and…" That is how you would not know who you went with, or when it happened, or where it was, or how you got home. You only remember a couple details and one "scene". In all seriousness, her story sounds like someone telling about a dream… It explains how nobody else who what "there" remembers it happening.
  • Will my car make it to california? I live in chicago, and i own a 1991 grand marquis made by ford, the transmission has been replaced and everything runs fine currently, i'm trying to make a road trip to california but i'm not sure if my car will make it that far?
  • What type of car is your dream car? I want a 1958/1959 Chevy Impala or Bel-Air or a Ford Mustang 1967 Fastback. I'm also curios to what others want as their dream car.
  • What is you dream garage (5 Cars)? I was just thinking of my Dream 5 car garage, mine results of: Cars: 1. 2008 Murcielago 2. 72' Ford Escort MkII 3. 72' Corvette Stingray 4. 69' Mustang Fastback 5. 2015 Nissan GTR Motorbikes: 1. 2014 R1 2. Triumph Thunderbird Commander So my question is what's your "Dream" 5 car garage? And maybe 2 motorbikes if you want!
