Does my 1942 Ford gpw script jeep need a title in Arkansas?
I live in Arkansas and I purchased a 1942 Ford gpw script Jeep that is all matching numbers but it didn't come with a title but I did get a bill of sale with it and it is supposedly not from the original owner but I ran the VIN on Google and it wasn't stolen.
Automakers didn't begin using VIN numbers until 1954. Before that, people went by the engine serial number. Since engines were sometimes swapped, this was unreliable.
Yes, it needs to be registered. Go to the DMV and ask them what you need to show to register this vehicle.
Running it on google doesn't tell you that it wasn't stolen. At most, it just means that it wasn't reported stolen, yet. And I'm not even sure it means that much. It could still be stolen because many thefts don't get reported or don't shown up online immediately.

- How to get a New Jersey title for a Ford F250 that I built? I have built a Ford F250 super duty from the ground up. All parts were oem and made for the truck. The crew cab I bought to put on the chassis came with no title and now I'm stuck. The truck runs and drives perfectly because every part is like new.Below is an photo for reference but it is not my truck. The cab that I bought was removed from a salvage Ford F250. The cab has the vin plate but the truck was wrecked and I don't want that. I need a clean title.
