Can you replace a ford 2.9 in a 89 Bronco 2 with a 4.0?
Can you replace a 2.9 in A 89 Bronco 2 with a 4.0? An how much of a problem would it be. Do i need to switch out trans or transfer case, fly wheel, rear end, ect, any help would be great thanks
Way too long of an answer to post here, but here is the site that does have the instructions for swapping the 4.0 into other ford vehicles including the Bronco II
Pretty major job for a non-mechanic, but not so bad for an engine swap.
You do need a donor vehicle and not just an engine - you will need the transmission if it's an automatic and most likely if it is a manual
Thanks for the site it helped out a lot. Now i think i will just rebuild the 2.9 with maybe a little boost. I don't stump jump or drive off rode like a crazy 4wheeler on bad steroids. This is my hunting rig and the motor is just plain getting tired. So who or what do you recommend in ways of rebuild. Crate it or kit?
- If you have enough money, can you have a new classic car built? Like can I pay to have ford build me a 1970 Mustang? Lets say I don't want to buy an old car and restore it, I want a 1970 but straight off the factory line. Can you have a car built with the old style frame, engine, trans, etc?
- If you have a judgment against you on your credit report will you still be able to buy a house? Judgment is from 2008 and it's from Ford motor credit on mileage when we turned in a leased vehicle
- Can you replace a power window with a manual one? My car (2001 Ford Escape XLT V6) has power windows and the back seat driver, I think, and the front right passenger window are done. So I'm wondering if it's actually possible to just replace the door panels or something and get a manual roll up window that way I won't have to deal with the motor breaking or whatever lol. I live in FL with no A/C so the windows have to be down, also it rains a lot here as most know lol.
- Where can I find a 4 door Ford Bronco? I'm 16 and I want a car. I want something unique that you don't see everyday. I like the 1994-96 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer. I know that most of them are 2 door. There's a 4 door version, it is just VERY rare. I have seen one before. Where can I find one? I did find one on craigslist but, it needs some work. Where do I look? They were usually custom made at an aftermarket company like Centurion. They were sometimes made out of F-Series pickups.
