Are American Fords and English Fords made by the same people?
The difference between the two is massive. Huge trucks and muscle cars in America and hatch backs and sports cars with Cosworth engines in the UK
They are both made by Ford, but they are tailored to the market that they are sold-in. The US market for cars & the European market are VERY DIFFERENT.
The same company - Yes. But made in totally different factories by different people.
It's the same company. They have assembly plants in many countries around the world. UK fords are not all made at the same place and Fords sold in the US come from many different factories and even different countries. So It's a big international company. Yes, they sell different cars in different markets.
No. They don't fly workers from one country to the other!
The same Ford company, but different designs made in different factories in different countries.
No Cosworths for a long time.
Same company. Different models on some cases. Now getting much closer than in the past.
Same parent corporation, but different factories.
Depends on the car. But usually not, Not all vehicles are sold in all markets. You can't buy an F-350 in the UK, and you can't buy a Ford Ka in the US. Obviously a car built in Ford's Valencia plant would not be built by the people who build cars in Ford's Flat Rock plant. But there are some factories that build both US spec and Euro-spec cars. The Flat Rock plant builds every new Mustang. If you bought a 2015+ Mustang in the UK, it was build at the Flat Rock plant along side the US spec Mustang.
They're made by different people of course.
And of course, not all models are available in all countries.
Here in the US we have the Taurus, but it's not available in Europe (at least not that I'm aware of)
Not sure if it helps, but it may be worth looking into Holden- they may have had a part with Ford in production outside the US
- Why would people buy older foreign cars instead of brand new American cars? I see it all the time, people driving 7-8 year old Mercedes or BMWs that they paid probably paid around $20,000. They could of easily gone out and bought a brand new Ford or Dodge, but they didn't. They bought a Mercedes with over 100k miles. All worn and torn on the inside. But aslong as they're shining on the outside I guess.
- What's a good newer American-made car? . I like the Chevy Impala SS, Chevy Corvette Stingray, Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, and Ford GT-40. Here's a TV ad for it:
- What tools do I need to change my brake pads? Explain in plain English to a non-mechanic. Send pictures even? Alright before I get into this, let me explain that I'm a 17 year old girl that has no one to do my brake pads, and I'm unable to transport my car to a shop. Recently bought a car that needs a brake pad change and decided it'd be a good learning experience to just do them myself. I've seen them done and also decided that if I **** something up that's my own problem. I have a 2005 Ford Taurus. My e-mail is nyarseniccatnip@gmail.com (Haha. Ironic.)
- I took my truck my truck to ford to fix a very loud noise and when I Get it back same its the same? I spent eight hundred and something dollars to get this fixed they said I should replace two of them the front and back so they can have the same life span so I forked out another 400 bucks but now when I go home and has the same noise when I turn now they're trying to sell me a wheel bearing for two hundred buckS, its been 5 days what should I do
