Replacing my 99 ford ranger stereo?

So I bought a new stereo and wanted to save some money and install it myself. Boy did I jump in over my head. I got the old one out, I connected the adapter. Striped the wires and connected it with the adapter. Went to plug it in and it dosent work. I measured the energy from the ground wire and the red ( power ) wire it's all good. But the new stereo won't turn on. So I thought faulty system so I got a new one same problem. I disassembled all of it and went to put the factory back in for alittle while and the factory won't work either. I've worked on it for many hours today. Gonna go back out and try again tommorrw. Any suggestions please thanks btw I made sure all the wires are connected to the same wire

Quit blowing fuses lmao. Its really easy if you actually do it right, but your adapter should have plugged right in. I've seen more stereos toasted by people trying to wire em up while they are playing. Anyway antenna should also be plugged in.

Replaced control valve with new one. Engine Idled up real high. Attempted driving, thought computer had to reset. Engine still idled up too high. Parts store said vehicle had to be driven for at least 20 miles for control valve to operate correctly. Drove truck 30 miles, engine started to surge. Put old control valve back in and engine does not idle high or surge but stalls out.( suggestions) ?
