Low compression cause ticking?

On my 2005 v6 ford mustang, i have a problem. All of the cylinders are at about 185-195psi except 2. 2 of them are at 170psi and both of those make a ticking noise when the engine is on and both of their spark plug gaps close when i start. Don't tell me i have the wrong plugs because i don't. I have tried 3 new OEM plugs on each and the same thing happens. What is wrong and how do i fix it?

Your tappets sound like they are starting to go dry if 2 cylinder are 170 psi then you are blow 10 the 10%sounds like an engine job ahead of you good luck

  • Ticking noise coming from engine? - 1 I have a 1978 Ford Ranchero and there's a ticking noise coming from the passenger side In engine. And this car was given to me and I had my camshaft, timing chain set, and all 16 lifters changed what can this noise be? Could it be from a bad rocker arm? And what can I do to quiet this noise. I'm broke so I can't do any further expensive repairs
  • Can a low oil light cause my 1990 ford ranger to not turn over? I started my truck a few days ago and it ran descent considering i need new plugs and wires, when i tilted it over on its side (only about six inches on the driver side), it had a small oil drip, when i tried to start it today it wouldnt turn over and whenever i turned the key, the check oil light came on, will it start if i add some oil to it?
  • Ford f-250 4.9 in-line 6cyl., has 140-150 compression in the first 4 cylinders and only 100 in 5th and 6th cylinders Can this be my crank but no-start issue? I know low compression in any cylinder is a sign of bad Rings or valves or worn cylinder wall, What I want to know is if that is what is causing my crank but no-start problem!
