Is a 1997 mustang with 199,685 miles on it worth upgrading?

I just got my first car a few days ago. It's a 1997 ford Mustang V6 automatic. With 199,685 miles on it. It still sounds and runs great. Very responsive, and has a nice growl to it. Has a nice "get up and go" feel to it. My question is, is it worth it to put in money for interior and exterior mods due to the high mileage? Or would it be better to wait a few months ( i can set aside 500-600 a month) to get another used mustang (preferably a 1994-2000 GT v8 with less than 100k on it. They run around 2-3k around here) and upgrade that?

IMO upgrades cost more than they are worth. The only reason I would put a lot of money in upgrades is A: I really like the car and am attached to it. B: I want something unique that no one else has. C: I really enjoy doing upgrades.

Otherwise, it's easier/cheaper to just save the money and get something else closer to what you want in performance.

No because you can't upgrade the 3.8 V6 without completely rebuilding it first and that alone would cost more than the car ever will (nevermind any actual upgrades)

  • How much is a 2000 ford ranger with 170,000 miles and 3 inch body lift worth? It is a stepside, extended cab. It has a few probs… Window on drivers side doesn't work… Electric windows… And the tires are kinda bald… It also has a slight oil leak somewhere… It always leaves little dots of oil when it is parked. It does burn any oil at all though. What would it be worth you think?
  • Pros and cons of upgrading alternator? I have a 99 ford crown Vic and it's about time to change my alternator. My last question about 2 weeks ago explains everything. But a stock alt for my car is 135 amps. I'm thinking of getting a 220 amp high output alternator to also support my stereo systems. There no other alternator just 135amp and 220amp. I'm just wondering will that produce too much power or no?
  • Upgrading mustang v6 2017's exaust/mufflers So, I got a new mustang v6 2017 and I heard that you can upgrade the exaust to make it sound like v8. So, my question is how muc does it cost to buy a new one and getting it installed? Any cheaper ones out there with some decent quality? Does upgrading exaust/mufflers drops mileage? Does it drops horsepower? Does it impacts the engine anyways? Does it has any impacts on its 5year free warranty by ford?
