CD Player in Ford Explorer?
I have a 1997 Ford Explorer XLT, and I see that there's a button for a CD player. I looked on google and found out that it's under the center console armrest, but I have no idea how to open it in order to look.
Can anyone help me?
P.S. I searched all over google and youtube to find a way to open it, but they were no help.
If there's no CD changer in the center console, then it just has the tape player. Ford used the same head unit for models with the tape player only and the ones with the tape player and the CD changer. If you push the CD button and you get a message on the display saying something like "No Disc" or "No DC" or something to that effect, then you don't have a CD player.
If you can't access it your car likely did not come with this add on package or optional feature. If it did get your owners manual, If you don't have it i'm sorry and you will have to wait for someone that knows the ford explorer you have because I don't. Sorry
Just pull up hard on the front of the console lid. It takes some effort. Then slide back the top dust cover of the unit.
- Will my Ford KA (55 plate) CD player play MP3's? I have a 55 plate Ford KA Collection model and was wondering whether my CD player would play mp3's? I have the standard CD player/Radio that was originally put in the car it has never been changed.
- Where can I get a new cd player for my '04 Ford Explorer? The motor in my cd player is dead, with a cd stuck in it. I've been looking for a new or used one. But I don't really know what I'm doing lol. I'm new to this. Can anyone help me? Possibly send me the link to a site? I'd appreciate it.
