Would you buy a 1908 Ford Model T, if they came back for one year? - 1

NO.unless you like driving 20 mph.

For the original price? $850? I'd love to have one! But in subsequent years they got cheaper and better.

Yes. But, it'd be too costly and would be so labor and material expensive, regulated it'd be better to buy a fiberglass body replica. It's engine and drivetrain couldn't handle the extra weight of regulatory controls, emissions and features.

Counting for inflation the original Model T would cost $20,447.78. At same cost of labor and materials. You couldn't build an original for less than $100K at today's cost of labor and materials. You'd be cheaper to buy an original. Then watch it's value climb. A reproduction, even faithful, would only decrease.

No. It won't make it to the freeway.

No. Unless I had more cash.time to waste than common sense. These cars are not easy to drive having to alter own spark ignition timing as we drive etc. Even footpedals do not correspond with what we're used to. And if you only ever drive an auto? Bit like riding bike and expecting to fly a helicopter.

Yes it would make a great hot rod. But realistically no, too many regulations and fear of getting sued bean-counters would ruin the car once and for all Would you buy a 1908 Ford Model T, if they came back for one year - 1
