Would a 2002-2008 Mazda 6 manual transmission fit in a 1996 Mercury Sable Wagon?

I have a 1996 Mercury Sable Wagon with an automatic transmission on its last leg. The car has a 3.0 L Duratec 30 (Mazda AJ) which was widely used in both Ford and Mazda powertrains. So here's the question, would a 2002-2008 Mazda 6 manual transmission be transferable to my 1996 Mercury Sable Wagon? My main concern is that all the hardware line's up and the drive shaft is the right radius. I choose this car because they were pretty avidly fitted with manual transmissions; meaning it would be easy for me to find a salvaged model. However this powertrain was also found in other models such as the 2004-2007 Jaguar S-type and the 1989-1999 Mazda MPV so if the Mazda 6 manual doesn't have compatible mounts is their any other car I could find a manual transmission that would fit in my 1996 Mercury Sable?

"avidly fitted?" Who writes this way? Where did you get the idea that this will work? Doing a manual conversion to an already automatic car is not "plug and play," there's much more work involved. That 'family truckster,' will be down longer that it is to find and install a good, used automatic from a Sable or a Taurus.
