Why isn't Ford USA selling the UTE trucks that they sell in Australia?
They should sell the UTE trucks in USA too. They are cool
Americans call them pick-up trucks, Australians call them utes (short for utility trucks)
They're the same thing.
Market interest- in AU the fuel costs are much higher so smaller more fuel efficient trucks are in demand - in the US our fuel prices tend to be much cheaper so the larger pickup trucks are financially more practical.
I agree though they have some cool little pickups and I would be a customer if they were available in the USA. When I was visiting in 2005 one of the utes looked like my Ford Focus with a truck bed - they were pretty cool.
- What future cars will be in australia? Will there be dodge rams, ford f series, silverado or gmc full size trucks on the way over when Holden and ford plants close their doors? Does anyone know will there be chargers and Cadillacs? Any info would be great
- Why is the 2015 Ford Ranger not available in the USA? The new Ranger is available in almost every country other than the USA. I can't understand why it is not sold in the USA
- Why does Mexico have a Ford Ranger with 4 doors and USA and Canada doesn't? Mexico also has a VOLKSWAGEN pick up truck, The Amarok, And they also have the Toyota Hilux which is similar to the Tacoma.
- Isn't it hard to force the EU to buy our cars? Ford announced they'll stop making regular cars, and they don't want our gas guzzling SUVs? Or huge trucks. That's what part of this trade war is about fyi, our products that they don't even want. Interesting, but 10% vs 2.5% isn't exactly earth shattering on cars. Plus that article's talking about OBAMA'S proposed free trade not Trumps.
