Why is my 1997 Ford Thunderbird making a loud knocking noise as I?
I bought a 97 ford Thunderbird not to long ago and it is starting to make a thumping like kknock. Sound like it is coming from under the car but only happens when I'm driving. I got an oil change n still hear the knocking why?
Do you think it is under the car or towards the front? How many miles? Is there lag when you step on the gas or any smoke coming from the exhaust? The knock could be almost anything from a loose muffler/catalytic converter to a possible ring job needed for the engine itself or miss-firing caused by the cylinders.

- Loud roaring type noise accelerating between 40 and 50mph? Ford Focus recently serviced but after a week began making a roaring type of loud engine (?) noise accelerating between around 45-50mph. Plus some window vibration. After 55 and cruising at 70 no more noise. Yet it returns when the speed goes back down to 50 and then disappears in the low gears and low speeds. Exhaust? Bearings? Seals? Wheels?
