Why do BMW, Audi, and Mercedes Benz cars have so many problems?

My friend owned at least 2 models of each one of these brands. His Mercedes Benz were especially problematic for him. The tires on the Mercedes Benz would get loose every month or so, and the repair prices were ridiculous. As you know, tire rotation and wheel alignments are very expensive.

I have a Ford and I'm very satisfied with it. Why are BMW, Audi, and Mercedes Benz so expensive for no reason? They are unreliable, uncomfortable and rough to drive, gas-guzzlers, and they have very noisy interiors.

What justifies the price tags of Mercedes Benz, BMW, and Audi?

German cars have low quality and should be worth less than $10,000.

Your friend is stupid for buying Mercedes Benz, Audi, and BMW.

I had a BMW, and it drove like a dream for the five years I owned it. Yes, it was expensive to get problems fixed, but I only had two repair bills in those five years. Compare that to our experiences with a Ford, which we owned for two years -- repairs every three months (or so it seemed). In total, the Ford's costs were almost double those of the BMW, even though the individual bills were much smaller.

Relative to noise -- the BMW was much quieter inside than the Ford (I could hear the stereo far more clearly in the BMW, compared to the cheap noise maker on the Ford).

And then, there's the power -- both had towing installed, but the Ford couldn't pull a trailer without both doubling the gas consumption and barely making it up our relatively small hill, while the BMW was as smooth as ever, with no noticeable change in the mileage.

As for gas-guzzling: I was getting something like 9.5 litres per 100 km compared to 10.5 per 100 km, plus the BMW ran well on basic petrol (91 octane), compared to 95 octane for the Ford. (at a five cent difference, that added up very quickly.

And the BMW was extremely comfortable.

While I do think that the price for the high-end models of BMW, Audi and Merc is not worth the premium, I'm not sure that Ford (or other "cheaper" cars are worth the prices asked for anyways.

Did you friend buy a new or used mercedes? Used cars break down like once a week lol. Asian made cars will always be the most dependable. European cars are innovative and flashy.

  • Why are do many people buying cars? I just went to a local Ford dealership to get my key fixed and it was busy, and most people there were buying or leasing a new car. I'm pretty sure those people don't have the money to make that kind of investment so why are they causing themselves more debt that people like me have to take care of in the end?
  • Which car brand is better, Acura or Mercedes-Benz? My mom is wondering what kind of car would be good to replace her Mercury Grand Marquis. She was considering the Lincoln MKS but after we heard it wasn't that great of a car (and all our Ford products have been unreliable) so my mom is considering either an Acura RLX or Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Looking at used ones, they're about the same price, but we might be able to get a better deal on the Acura. Which car would you get?
  • Why are some Ford cars (like the Taurus and Focus) such unreliable cars? I'm looking at cars in the $3000 - $4500 range and I'm noticing a decent amount of Ford Taurus's and Focus's and out of all the cars that I see, these are two cars that just seem so unreliable. I test drove a Focus last year and it sounded like something was wrong with the engine.
  • Should I buy a 1992 mercedes benz 300e or a 1999 ford crown victoria? So my options are a 1992 mercedes benz 300e for $600 or a 1999 ford crown victoria $500. They are both in similar condition although the mercedes has 190,000 miles and the crown vic has 250,000. They would both cost the same for me to insure I prefer a mercedes to a ford but the for also has automanuel transmission which I like more than just automatic with the benz
