Why are ford cars pretty cheap? - 1
They are all beatup, need lots of repair. Or plain gas guzzlers even with gas prices as cheap as it is now.
Fords are good quality cars and are trustworthy. There just isn't anything special about them. The low prices on the new cars is what shows how reliable they are. The low prices on old fords are only because the sales will go down a lot.
Ford are very good at cost control. They build decent cars but mostly not very exciting.
Because they build large numbers the development costs are spread over more cars so are less per car.
Basically you get what you pay for, you buy cheap, you get cheap
You make a very general statement, there may be some more specifics you aren't telling us. Is there a specific make/model/year car that you are looking at and are concerned that the low price indicates some problem with the car?
If I look at what I'm interested in, Ford Shelby GT350R, that is $61K for a flat crank motor that sounds and revs like a Ferrari, this may sound like a cheap car to someone used to buying Ferraris, but not to most people.
- Why would people buy older foreign cars instead of brand new American cars? I see it all the time, people driving 7-8 year old Mercedes or BMWs that they paid probably paid around $20,000. They could of easily gone out and bought a brand new Ford or Dodge, but they didn't. They bought a Mercedes with over 100k miles. All worn and torn on the inside. But aslong as they're shining on the outside I guess.
- Trump just said he doesn't care if Ford was lying or not, the important thing is the GOP won. Can we pretty much assume any conservative? Is lying every time they speak from now on? Like we didn't know already. Taking a lie away from a conservative is like taking a porkchop away from a pitbull.
- Why don't American cars last as long as Japanese cars? My family has owned a Ford Taurus and a Nissan Altima of similar model years. Both cars are still running, but the Taurus has very low mileage (it's a 1999 with only 85,000 miles) and the interior is in horrible condition and the plastics Ford put in have been known for breaking. None of this has happened with the Altima, even though it has more miles. Why?
- Why are some Ford cars (like the Taurus and Focus) such unreliable cars? I'm looking at cars in the $3000 - $4500 range and I'm noticing a decent amount of Ford Taurus's and Focus's and out of all the cars that I see, these are two cars that just seem so unreliable. I test drove a Focus last year and it sounded like something was wrong with the engine.
