Which is the tuffest and best engine ford 427,428 or 429? - 1

Nobody come on guys and gals help me out here

If you're going to build one I suggest a 429. They are better breathing engines than the 427 and 428. Another way to go is to build a stroker 351. You can get pretty close to 427 ci that way. It depends on what you want to do with the engine.

Depends on who built it, what it is used for, etc.

The 427 can be worth a fortune, original untouched crate motors have gone for over $80,000.

It really depends on your application, the 427 and 428 are FE engines, the 429 is a 385 (same series as the 460).

All can be built up into monsters.

What they are trying to tell you is simple there's nothing to chose between most ford engines. They all suffer from one problem or another. Yes over the years since the 1950's FORD has tried without any success to produce a performance engine better than the old Windsor one used in a V6 engine it had its's issues too. So sorry sunshine start to look at other makers. The japanese are good engine builders Toyota especially make so good engines.
so time to move on and learn they are problematic makers of engines. Even the zetec has problems it was meant to be the answer to the issues, however it still wears out quick.

427 SOHC Cammer.

For power, it's hard to beat a 427, but they are rare
