When did Ford (Mercury, etc) stop using Type F Auto tranny fluid in their vehicles?

Sometimes… Living in a redneck town will amaze you. Especially noticing how low the average I.Q. Is…

In teh 1980s perhaps

The Borg Warner transmissions used Type F. Ford had it's own subsidiary of BW. Type F was used in many cars all over the world. What year did they stop? Couldn't tell you for sure. Type CJ was introduced by Ford in 1974 as a replacement for Type F.

LONG AGO. Type "F" was used in TAURUS< ESCORT CONTINENTAL steering systems for a long time! Type "F" was most.;y used in REAR DRIVE cars ith the C4 transmissions. FRONT DRIVE cars fro FORD have used DEXRON since they were conceived! I think! BYE for NOW! I wsanted to sue FORD for the mislabelling of the cars metionedf. Because the label on thowse cars' steering fluid caps said, "POWER STEERING FLUID: instead of," USE TYPE "F"ONLY! In other words, many Ford cars going to the oIL CHANGE CENTERS would install POWER STEERING FLUID< instead of TYPE "F" trns fluid, so THEN these cars would havw "WHINEY" steering systems! They SHOULD have put, even in SMALL PRINT< whcih fluid type was reqruied in these car types! AND REPLACE the SSTEERING SYSTEM CAPS with different printings! BYE for NOW.

1979 or 1983, depending on continent, with the phase out of the FMX (Warner style) transmission.
