When all is said and done, what will history say of US President Gerald R. Ford (R-MI)?

Ford died 11 years ago today. When the history about his presidency has been written, what will history say of him?

He pardoned Nixon when he should have allowed an indictment, and aside from that did nothing.

He pardoned Nixon

He personally took over the Mayguez Operation and got 18 Marines tortured and killed

He said Poland under the Soviet Union was a free country

He decided to fight a recession by handing out "Win" buttons to the entire country

He decided that a 55 mile an hour speed limit was ok since he went everywhere in a helicopter

He was a fool for pardoning Nixon.

The best thing about Ford is probably the Mustang. And the F-150.

" he was a ford, not a Lincoln ".

A dundering fool.

Not much, except for his role in pardoning Nixon and being the only President to not be elected to either the Presidency or the Vice Presidency.

Gerald Ford was a lame duck politically from the day he took the Presidency. He had a Democrat House and Senate which forced the country into a poor economy. The public suffered.

He tripped and fell alot, he denied America its chance to put Nixon in jail and suffered politically for it. Came up with the "majic bullet" theory for the Warren comission report.
Nixon picked him for VP because he was good at coverups.
