What should i know when replacing a head gasket?
What should i know when replacing a head gasket on a 2005 Ford E250 4.6L V8, seems like an easy job. Was wondering if i should know any special i should do when taking off and putting it back on
any help is appreciated
You need to skim the head if you replacing the head gasket, find someone near you that can do it should cost around £30-£50
Just replacing the gasket more likely will not fix it if it got hot the heads will have to be resurfaced and that takes a little bit of work if you don't reseruface them it will never seal this I a big job
- What are reasons for a blow head gasket? I'm thinking of buying a 2001 Ford Taurus with 89K on it. The craigslist ad says it needs a head gasket
- How long will it take to put a head gasket in a 2000 ford taurus? Just need to know cuz my husband is workin on one for someone else so he can charge them the right price
- Looking for your opinion So I'm a mechanic i replace my head gasket on my 1996 ford ranger 2.3 gasket the head bolts the hole 9 yards I torqued the head 51 to 90 ft pounds and the sequence was 51 to 60 to 80 90 so I don't know if i should re torque head bolts or leave it? - Car overheats, AC is blowing warm, and gurgling noise from head gasket? My 2000 Ford Mustang has been acting up ever since I replaced the upper radiator hose. The hose had a massive hole burned into it from God knows what. It has been overheating recently, and just now after a short drive there was a loud gurgling noise and leak from the head gasket area, right next to where the oil gets poured in. I'm not sure where to go from here, advice?
