What should be pressure in car ac hoses?

I have honda civic 2001. And ford freestar 2005. I have bought a manifold gauge set with low and high pressures gauge plus for refilling hose.
i would like to know what should be pressure in the hoses to make sure that i have enough freon and if need how much should i add freon.

Don't mess with your AC system. This is not a DIY repair.

Take your car to a professional repair shop.

It is not big deal, I just want to confirm the pressure

Hi so not enough information here.

The absolute pressures vary too much with outside temperature, humidity, system design and capacity, elevation above sea level, etc. Overall pressure recommendations would be useless. The only way to really know if the levels are correct is to pump out the refrigerant down to hard vacuum and then refill with correct amount. Your manifold set is still useful for seeing if the compressor is good, using relative pressure. With everything hooked up and running, you should have about 200 psi difference between the high and low sides. If that difference is below 130 psi or thereabout, your compressor is failing.

Between 25 and 345 psi, depending on the ambient temperature, what the A/C is doing at the time, and lots of other factors. You could measure the pressure with the system off and settled out, but all that would tell you is if there's any refrigerant at all in the system (even if it is to little for the system to try to operate). Yes - the pressure, which is the vapor pressure of R-134a at whatever ambient temperature it is, is exactly the same whether the system is seriously undercharged or seriously overcharged. The relationship between the high and low pressures is too complex for any but a trained professional to understand.

If you are planning to recharge the system, you will need it discharged by a professional and can then follow the instructions in this video. Personally, I do most of my own maintenance but leave A/C to professionals.

If the system still has 134a in it and is low I just add 134a until I have 40 degree air coming out of my center vents on an 80 degree day.
If you want to be precise with filling the system evacuate it and add the 134a by weight according to the yellow AC tag in the engine compartment.

  • Why does my car shut off with too much pressure on the steering wheel? I have a 1990 Ford Tempo. I replaced the ignition to starter cable on it, as it would randomly shut off when taking a hard right due to corrosion on it. However, it still randomly shuts off when too much pressure is applied to the steering wheel. I was suspecting that maybe it is the ignition switch, but I don't have the money to go to a mechanic at the moment. Has anyone else had this problem? And how was it fixed?
  • Oil pressure - in my dashboard - CAR OIL CHANGE -? Hi i'm getting the below message in my dashboard. Mine is a 10 yrs old ford card LOW OIL PRESSURE. could the above be due to ENGINE OIL due to be replaced. Or oil gone old or bad. i jut recently changed oil - its a 5k miles synthetic oil.
  • How to remove the two heater hoses off the firewall for a 2009 ford mustang? I have a water leak under the dash on the passenger side front seat, the water is clear and does NOT smell, so I have been told this is a clogged hose. There appears to be no clamps on these two hoses when they meet the firewall which from a look under the hood, both go to the front of the engine.
  • Car sayes no oil pressure? I have a 2003 ford mustang it reads 0 for oil pressure and I just changed the oil pressure switch and it still reads 0 the oil level is fine and the car runs just fine what would my next step be or any suggestions thanks
