What's better the famous 454 bbc or the ford 460?

I love both! But I do think ford is better. But you don't see people engine swapping 460s into trucks or cars. But I'm thinking a project f100/150 old school carb 460 candy blue and chrome would be sick with tons of power. Opinions? Suggestions?

I don't know. But are you trying to ask a question about a Big Block Chevy? Because that's one term for which you probably shouldn't use an acronym. Or maybe cbb, for Chevy with a Big Block.

All depends on the build. My 1990 460 is a dog compared to an early one… You can turn just about any engine into a beast if you know what you are doing.

It will cost at least twice as much to build the Ford. It all depends on how much it is worth to you to keep your Ford all Ford.

Chevy by far

The chevy is a better big block Ford never offered 4 bolt mains The crank can walk so much racers used to slather anti seize around the main caps and bearings just to help alleviate metal to metal contact Chevy is better ford engines take mountains of money to make big horse power You can use the same amount of money build a chevy and still have money left over

I'm a big proponent of keeping the vehicle manufacturer and engine matching. I'm not a Ford guy, so it won't matter if you put an LS-series GM motor in there, I wouldn't be a fan of the truck.

Why carb? Put something in there that is enjoyable to drive (fuel injection) so you actually want to drive the truck, instead of trying to keep it running all the time.

Honestly, I enjoy vehicles with enough balance to corner well, and either chevy or ford big block is just too nose-heavy. You can get decent enough power out of a small block, get a donor mustang GT and transplant bits and pieces into your F-100.
