What motors would work with a C4 transmission?
Its a 1977 I believe. The car is a 1969 Ford Galaxie. Has no motor. Tranny is good.
If its a factory car it will be a 260 v8 and its a close relative to the 289 / 302 windsor.
just about anything will fit into a galaxie. Except a f250 diesel (too wide)
yes there are a lot of ford small blocks that used the c4 trans
Many motors are going to work with that tranny. However the better question is what bell housing do you have, and what bolt pattern is it. Ford has used many different motors to mate to that trany, The 289 and 302 being some
It's the stock transmission, it will be a C6 not a C4.

- How much for an F650? Would you need a special license to drive one or would a regular drivers license work? I'm interested in possibly purchasing a ford F650 and was wondering a price range of it and if I can drive it with a regular license. Also a possible gas mileage and how would I go about buying one?
- Greatest motors from 1980-1995? I'm looking at buying a car (likely a truck ) from 1980-1995, help me add to this list: I'm pretty sure ford has the 5.0, and 5.8 windsor v8s. As well as the 4.9 straight six. Chevy has the 5.7 (350) v8, the 3.8 and 4.3 v6 I have no idea about Chrysler. Toyota ana nissan have great 4 cylinders, no idea about their 6 cylinders. What other motors should I highly consider looking at?
- General Motors, Ford, and American Motors? https://en.wikipedia.org/..._in_Canada Why does it say on Wikipedia they're defunct Canadian car companies? Isn't General Motors and Ford and American Motors United States founded and owned car companies?
