What kind of ignition system do they use in the 1967 Chevrolet Impala on Supernatural?

Ok, I was wondering about what kind of ignition system do they use in the 1967 Chevrolet Impala on Supernatural. I know every company has different ignition systems due to copyright laws. I can tell the difference between Chrysler, Ford, and GM but I've heard a '67 Impala start up and it sounds way different to the Impala used on Supernatural. I love the way it sounds! I'm doing a project and would like to find that brand of ignition. If any one knows what the name(brand) of ignition is, I would be grateful.

You can be certain the the 67 Supernatural Impala is a custom build from the ground up.

No telling what the bright boys put in her!

Stock would be a standard Delco point set distributor with a conventional Declo Tower coil. But dropping in a HEI distributor would be as easy as pie on any of those older Chevrolet V8's/

And the difference between a stock 350 2bbl and the same 350 with a Street Dominator intake and a custom built Q-Jet and custom dual exhaust is night and day even if you did not touch the Ignition! Not to mention it will rock the socks off a factory 400 4bbl! It's all in the tuning!

Copyright has nothing to do with it. Patents from the 1960s expired 17 years after they were issued, making the inventions claimed in them now "public domain".

The engine noise on a TV show car is added in post production, and often has little or no bearing on the sound actually coming out of the car. For all we know, the engine noise could have come from the sound effects guy's 1993 Ford Mustang 5.0. Or been recycled engine sounds from Smokey & the Bandit movies or Dukes of Hazzard reruns.

Plus, when it comes to engine noise, there are a whole host of other factors that play a much bigger role on making the sound than the ignition system. Camshaft specs, compression ration, head, exhaust pipe & muffler design, exhaust length… Simply swapping out points and condenser isn't going to make a stock 1967 Impala sound like the one on TV.

You mean patent laws. And most prop cars use EFI ignition and fuel delivery. Electronic.
