its just the series name they gave the first for F series truck

The F designated a regulalar Cab on chassis medium and heavy duty trucks like pick ups and chasis cabs used to modify for many uses.

The E series designated an truck with a integrated chassis like vans and such.

B series is light duty trucks like the Ford Ranger and Mazda B2300, B3000, and B4000
