It's the engine vibrating?
Or the car?
If it's the engine, it will vibrate in neutral/park without the car being in motion.
Is it an inline 4 cylinder? That type of engine would be. The most likely to vibrate, due to it's design.
Otherwise, there may be some rotating harmonic vibration due to an imbalance condition. Maybe even a loose flywheel. Or defective harmonic balancer.
If it's the engine vibrating, I would be tempted to remove all the belts, to isolate the engine from the accessories and run it for a few seconds to see. If maybe it's an accessory.
Hi with a FORD it usually could be anything. Why because they throw things together and that is why there are so many problems with a FORD.
Vibration Damper, Flywheel, bad torque convertor. I don't know
Broken motor mounts or trans mount or there loose even a U JOINT on the drive shaft will cause it. Also loose front end parts will too something is broken or loose maybe worn out
- What causes vibration and skidding tires while braking? I have a 1997 ford aerostar, and it runs beautifully. The only issue is the brakes. I had the brake lines, calipers and front left wheel bearing changed. The brake pedal goes down pretty far before activating the brakes, and a lot of times if i apply a little too much pressure they don't work and i just start skidding. Also, if i'm going fast and start slowing down the van vibrates pretty violently. What could cause this, and estimate how much to repair?
- 1995 Ford Taurus with a steering issue. When I turn the steering wheel to a certain spot left or right it will start moving back and forth? According to previous owner the rack and pinion was previously replaced. Steering wheel Is off a little to the right. Any ideas?
- What RPM should my car idle while driving and what RPM should I shift? I have a 2003 Ford Mustang V6. 5 speed manual transmission. This is not the first manual car I've owned, but I'm curious. I never really look but I've read in some places that in order to save gas you should shift at 2 RPM before I used to shift at around 3-3.5 RPM. Also what's a good RPM my car should idle at while I'm in gear? Let's say I'm driving in 3rd gear. What's the ideal RPM to stay at before needing to shift.
- What Ford vehicles with a 302 motor comes with a 4 barrel carb (and only comes 302 with a 4bc)? I have a 1989 mustang gt motor and I'm making it carbureted and I'm looking for any vehicle with a 302 that carries a 4b. I'm going to a junkyard where they don't help with finding vehicles, so it would be helpful to know what vehicles only have a 302 with a 4bc, that way I can look it up on the website and know exactly where its at.
