Vehicle registration?

I bought a suv from a dealer (ford) my paper registration goes up today. They just now text me. Text not call, telling me "
So the gentleman from our registration department told me to finish the registration process he needs to do a quick VIN inspection. It only tak es a couple minutes the said. Can you bring the vehicle in today? If so what time?" The thing is I'm out of town. Even then how long till I get my license plate. So far this has been a horrible experience for me. Told me the suv only had two owners only two dents nothing hardcore. Which I saw and got them out easy. However my back window does not roll up found that out a few days later, how buying it.

I was just wondering what could happen to me if I get pulled over, of there's anything I can do to help me out etc…

Sounds like BS. Call & ask for the "general manager" and see what he says.

They are probably not responsible for the back window unless you have a warranty in writing.

I see no instance where you could not just read off the vin # rather than going in so it sounds like they are going to try to sell you something and you want to avoid situations like that.

The "paper registration" the Ford dealership provided should be good for 30 to 90 days depending on your state jurisdiction. As long as the temp reg has not yet expired you can legally drive in any US state.

If the temp reg has or is about to expire you will have to take it upon yourself to obtain current registration either from the dealership or your state's DMV offices.

Should you be stopped by law enforcement prior to doing so you would indeed be subject to a traffic citation.

If I'm understanding your hard to understand question(s), You complicated things by going out of town with a soon to expire paper registration. What will happen? (if the paper registration has expired) I'm not a psychic but I will guess that If you get pulled over, you will likely be cited for driving an unregistered vehicle.

What does your problem with dents and the back window have to do with the "registration" question?

Grammar matters

VIN inspection? Nope. This sounds like a yoyo deal. They'll claim your financing fell through and ask you to sign a new contract at a higher rate. Screw them. DO NOT bring your car back there and ignore their threats.

When you buy a vehicle from a dealer, they will give you a temporary paper tag that is good for (X) days, Then if you don't get the (real) tags, then you need to have the paper tag extended by the DMV or the dealer. So, if the temp tag is expired or soon to be expired and if you continue to drive, then if the police stop you, you can get a ticket for driving on expired tags.

But, I suspect by your prior questions, that you had a 2012 that had problems and guessing you used it to buy the 2013 SUV, which was a month ago. But after buying, you lost your job and complained that you could only afford the $250, not the $350 and if you failed to make your payment, then they may want you to come back and repossess the vehicle for non payment, thus the fake vin excuse.

All the other problems having with this car has no bearing, since when you buy a car, you buy it "as is".

So, you either need to renew the temp tag, or if you had not paid, then they want their vehicle back.

In most states the dealership is only responsible for the title and the purchaser goes and gets it registered. The temp plate should be good for 30+ days from purchase date. Far as the inspection it depends on your state if it's required. Should have been done before purchase…
