What's wrong with my wheel?

So I got into an accident that messed up the right side of my Ford Taurus 1996 GL. Nothing under the hood is damage thankfully, but my 15" Rim got chipped and my 205/60R15 tire got punctured and I had to replace my rim and tire. Then 2 days later I got a black steel universal rim and a new 205/60R15 tire for it. A week later I was going to on a two hour drive to go get my Fiance from Job Corps to hang out for the weekend, but on the way my new rim was getting hot like very hot and I thought that it was normal and proceed, but then my 205/60R15 tire popped and when I parked on the side of the interstate and got out of my car to see the rim steaming hot, but luckily the rim is still good. I went to an auto garage and they couldn't find another 205/60R15, but they got me something close to it. They put a 195/65R15 tire and it literally made it the who way on the two hour drive, but I keep worrying that it will got out soon. The 195/65R15 is still used today and I'm worried that it will go out anytime when I do. Did my tire popped when the rim got hot? How can I make sure that the rim doesn't get hot anymore?

Something wrong with the brakes caused the wheel to get hot.

The heat could have caused the tire to fail. A mechanic can examine the wheel, brake and other components to find the cause of the wheel burning up the tire. The most common cause for that kind of problem is a binding or dragging brake.

Who looked at the vehicle after the accident to determine what was damaged? My guess is that it was you, and no offense, but unless you have experience working on vehicles, you may not have seen all the damage… Quite possible that something in the passenger side F brakes is damaged and caused the excessive heat… Another possibility is that "universal" rim, whatever that is… If the rim is not the correct offset, then that can cause problems as well

Maybe you' got a dragging brake, all that I can think of for the heat. The tire just blew out. The wrong sizes might be dangerous.
