What should i do about my current vehicle situation?

So i don't drive and my G2 isn't until next march, i need a car and i have plenty of money for one but i don't have a job yet, there aren't many options where i live. The car would be a 02 ford taurus for $1,200, thats nothing, but now i don't know what insurance i want, my friend has all-state but it's costing him 300 a month and one time they charged 700 in a month for no reason. And another friend suggested belair direct but the reviews are horrible.

or

i get a dealership car, i don't want them to screw me over cause i only have my g1, anyone know if i can even get a dealership car with a g1?

Is a Volvo S40 a good first car?

I'm turning 16 soon and my parents told me they'd purchase me a car, which I'm grateful for. The main car I'm looking at right now is a 2000 Volvo S40 with 135k miles and a 2003 Volvo S40 with 148k miles. Both are in astounding shape. I like this car because I've read that they're a quick car with that turbo that they have, yet also economical with the 1.9 liter 4 cylinder. The 2000 Volvo is $2500 and the 2003 is $3500, is the 2003 worth the extra $1k? Also, are Volvos reliable? I've heard they're expensive to fix. Thanks!

P.S. How bad is insurance compared to say, a Ford Taurus? I'm a 16 year old male.

What cassette adapter would work with a 97 ford taurus?

I currently have an Insignia 3.5 mm cassette adapter, but when I put it in my car's stereo it tries to read it but then pops out? What I want to know is if this is the cassette adapter or my car only responding to a certain adapter.

Break problems in my Ford Taurus 1999?

I think I might need to bleed my breaks but I'm not sure.
I'll push my breaks all the way to the floor and it still won't stop completely. It still slowly stops as if I'm barely pushing on them. And the pressure is really hard. So I have no idea, what do I need to do?

Car won't start after replacing Ignition Switch?

So my ignition switch has been a little sticky feeling, I had the car turned on and driving then I went to park it, i turned it all the way off then back on half way to listen to the radio without the engine running. After 20 mins i went to start it and the key just spins freely. Not only that but when i take out the key the battery stays on in that mode, it won't crank or turn over, and it won't turn off the power. So i tested the starter by connecting positive and negative cables connected to the starter and it turns on! But then i couldn't turn it off either… So i pulled the fuses to kill it. I thought it was the metal piece on the cylinder that goes into the casing on the steering unit, but after replacing the ignition cylinder it still does the exact same thing. I can feel it want to catch but it's like the housing unit is off track. Any way i can fix this at home? I have little money and I can't find a way to take off the whole housing unit, nor find it sold anywhere or how to fix it. Thanks for the help! 1997 ford taurus, automatic, v6
