Is the transmission from a '92 Ford Tempo compatible with a '94 Ford Taurus? - 1
My transmission went out on my 1994 Ford Taurus and I can get a 1992 Ford Tempo transmission for a much cheaper price. I would please like to know if they are compatible. Thanks so much in advance!

Most tempos have a 4 cylinder. All 94 tauruses have a v6. The axode was never used in a tempo. It Would not bolt up or mount using anything from a tempo The tempo used an atx. There were a few v6's used but things don't fit the two cars.
Since the taurus has deep disorders with inadequate cooling and parts crack internally, if you do find a wrecked taurus or sable with a rebuilt trans, and it's a good one, add a cooler to get some use out of it. But it's a very expensive mess you won't even be able to rent the holders and fixtures to do the work right.
The money could instead go to a used car you may rather have.

Not even close. Two completely different transmissions. You need a transmission from the same year and engine size from either a Taurus or Sable
- Where is the trunk safety release on a Ford Tempo? Mine doesn't have the release buttons in the glovebox and when I bought it the trunk wouldn't open. I got the back seat out but there's so much garbage and so little room I'm trying not to sift through all of it to find the safety release, does anyone know exactly where it's located?
- Transmission on 93 ford tempo? It's a 2.3 HSC. Can i drop the trans separately, or do i need to pull engine and trans together? Never done a tempo before, Reverse is gone in it, so assuming i need to change whole trans unless someone has another suggestion?
