Is a 130 amp alternator good for a 1200w system?

I have a 1999 Ford Taurus SE and I recently looked up stock alternators to see how many amps my alternator was putting out. Everywhere I look i see 130 amps and I wanted to know if that is good (higher end, lower end, or average). And if you could, give me an example of how many amps are bad, and how many amps would be really good for a 1200w system.

Yes, most cars have a stock alternator of 100 amps - 130 amps. So yes, you can have a sound system that does up to 1300 watts RMS.

  • Is this a good Sub and Amp combo? : http://www.ebay.com/...1287907067 I want to put subs in my ford focus, I want to make sure that the amp is good enough for the subs as I'm clueless when it comes to matching these things. Also is it ok to put this particular amp behind the panel in the trunk or will it get too hot? Also I want to know if its possible to wire it with connectors or something to where I can easily disconnect the sub for extra trunk space when needed?
  • Alternator and battery tested good, but Ford Escape won't crank? I have a 2004 Ford Escape that has had the battery warning light on the dash for about a month. I took it to auto zone and the battery and alternator tested good. Today I'm out and it won't turn over and has no power. The battery terminals are clean and the connections look good. Any idea what might be going on here?
