I'm looking into buying a 2008 Ford taurus and for some reason both of the rear wheels look pushed back in the tire well?

There's much more space in the front of the tire well than the back. Should I be concerned?

If it does not look right, maybe something is not right. Look at other Taurus of the same year and see what the rear wheels look like. Or just find other vehicles for sale. There are thousands of them.

The front wheels ARE further 'out' because they are the steering tires.

No, no need to be concerned, just walk away and find another one. If it doesn't look right the chances are it isn't. If every Taurus looks the same after you've looked at a few you'll know if the first one was wrong.

No

Yes, that is a major concern.
Did you pull an Instavin report? That should always be done. If the current seller has owned it less than say 6 months, pass on the deal. NEVER by from a flipper or curb stoner.
But you should be getting car inspected by a mechanic who can offer a professional opinion and put the car on a lift.
If you are not doing that, do it. NEVER buy a vehicle without an independent inspection.
The mechanic needs to check for any check engine codes and has there been any tampering with the system.
As well as full inspection.

Check for a dead body in the trunk.

Look up photos of the vehicle. Try www.cars.com.

It is crucial to have any used car you are serious about checked over by your own mechanic before committing to it. If the wheel position is wrong he will catch it. The $100 or so for a pre-purchase inspection can (and often does) save you thousands.

No

They might've put narrower tires on the back wheels - check the #'s.
