How to fix a leaky rack and pinions without replacing it?

I have a 96 Ford Taurus GL the rack and pinion is leaking fluid I don't have the money to replace the rack and pinion so where would the leak possibly be coming from and is it possible to fix it without replacing the rack and pinion

Replacing the end seals on a rack usually won't stop the leaking. The leak is usually coming from internally requiring a replacement unit.

Depends on type of leak and how fast it leaks.
1. If it is a hose nothing but a replacement hose will fix that.
2. IF the leak is not serious the Lucas stop leak can greatly help. YES it can work quite well
for a WHILE and is a good choice for an old car you don't to dump money into and plan to be rid of
within the next year or two. That is about the max time the sealer will bandaid the problem.

You may be able to fix a line if it is leaking either by tightening the line or replacing one of the Teflon seals or an 'o' ring at the line, but the rack and pinion unit itself can't be fixed except by replacement.
