How look to put in a new engine?

I'm having a new engine put into my 2009 Ford Taurus Limited. I was seeing someone could give a rough estimate of how long it would usually take to take out the old engine and put in the new one. I just want a rough estimate of how long and if the process is a lot more complex than I'm thinking

I would guess at least 12 hours, many much more. I actually bought an engine puller for about $100 and did a small engine. It would make no difference how big the engine was since the machine does all the work. But there's lots and lots of bolt work and connections, hoses. I don't know what the blue book says.

Typically the work will take 2 working days to complete from starting the work but that assumes that the workshop has all the things it needs at the start of the work and that they do not stop work on it at times to do other things.
Practically speaking if the car goes in for the work on a Monday then you will be likely to get it back on the Friday of that week.

2 days if they keep working on it and don't have to work on anything else in the shop.

It should only take 2-3 days if the shop has all of the parts before hand. Book time is only about 8 hours but you have to allow for errors, adjustments, roadtest and tuning.
