Front Bumper is gone on the used car I just bought. How much to fix it? Is it safe to drive?
I just bought a used car for $1300 the only issues with it our the rear suspension needs to be fixed and the front fender is missing completely.
There's no metal at all and no cover so the bottom half of the radiator is exposed.
Its an 02 ford Taurus and I'm wondering how much a complete new bumper is going to cost like a ball park estimate?
And is it safe to drive it without the front bumper temporarily?
Buy a used bumper and fender from a salvage yard. That will will be the least expensive option.
A 15 year old Taurus with all those issues for $1300? Personally I think you overpaid by about a grand.
Generally speaking it would not be legal to drive because of sharp ends being exposed that may snag someone's cloths As for how much it would cost you'll need to call the dealers parts dept or Google the part to find that out.
Get one from a junkyard. Not worth putting new parts on a $1300 car.
- Just bought a new truck, but wish I would have bought the Ford instead I put 8000 down and the first payment is due next week. Would it be wise to trade it just keep it for awhile?
- I just bought a ford fusion yesterday, and as soon as we bought it they notified us of a recall on it? Does anyone know of other recalls on this vehicle that we need to know about? the recall they just fixed was the most recent one with the power steering
- How safe is it to drive a car with a seriously rusted sub frame/frame? I have a 2003 ford focus. I recently brought it in because my power steering fluid was leaking. When the guy called me back he told me my sub frame was extremely rusted, so is my frame. This all happen the first day I started my new job in which i need to drive 20mins to get too. So my question is how safe is it to drive a car that has a rotted sub frame? This new job is only 1 or 2 days a week. I attached some pictures that I tried to take from under my car.
- Should the revised 2016 Ford Explorer ditch front-wheel drive for rear-wheel drive? Which midsize, non-luxury SUV uses RWD these days? Dodge Durango, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Toyota 4Runner, a used Chevrolet TrailBlazer or GMC Envoy. Not to mention the Nissan Xterra.
