Ford Taurus won't turn over?
I just got my 1994 Ford Taurus back from the transmission shop yesterday from getting the torque converter replaced. Yesterday it was fine. I drove to a friend's house from the shop and then home. Shutting it off and starting it twice in between. This morning I went out to it, turned the key, and nothing. The starter didn't even try to turn over. All instrumentation still works fine. Before I back it up and dig into it, any ideas what it could be? A blown fuse or anything like that?
Chances are they had to remove the starter cables to perform your torque converter replacement. Check the connections at the starter to make sure they weren't overlooked when they were putting everything back together. You may have a loose wire that has come off or simply needs tightening.
Check the battery cables. It's also possible the neutral safety switch was left loose and has come out of adjustment. Did you try jiggling the shifter while trying to crank it over? Or try starting it with the shifter in neutral instead of park.

The battery has a charge, the alternator is new, and I tried jumping the battery just in case. So I know it's not that. I'm thinking it could be something in the ignition switch because sometimes I have to lift up on the shifter knob for it to register that it's in park and turn over. Any ideas?
- Ford Festiva 1985 won't completely turn over? I just turned 15 and for my first car I got a Ford Festiva. Problem is it won't turn over all the way. It hasn't ran in about 4 years or so. My friends and I attempted at jump starting it and it wouldn't turn over. It just makes the noise as if it is trying to. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Is there anyway my ford 150 van might have been screwed with in a bad neighborhood, i had all the doors locked and windows up and hood locked from inside, is there a way to crawl underneath the van and reach into the under carriage to cut or remove something that would cause the ignition not to turn over or did the alternator just happen to bust
