Car overheating, slight leak, rattle when accelerate - What could this be?
Hi, I have a 1993 ford Taurus. Lately, my car has been overheating and I have noticed that there's a bit of leak. I have been keeping it full and it the temperature was fine. Just a few hours ago, the coolant was full but it skyrocketed to hot and makes a rattling noise when I accelerate. What could this be? I just got an oil change about a week agao, could this be related?
Welcome to owning a pos 90s ford car my best guess u warped the head blew a valve the water pump or thermostat took a **** look for a new car
Don't let the cranky dude get to you! Sounds like the thermostat or water pump. Relatively affordable fixes if you have someone who can do them for you.
- My 2000 Ford Windstar has a coolant leak. What could be causing it to leak? It has two leaks. One is from the passenger side near the front tire and the second is right below the driver's seat. I have to replace the coolant after I have had the heater on for a bit. I never have it on for more than 15 min. Not because the coolant runs out in that time but I just don't use it for long. I took it to the mechanic and he stated it was the "lower intake manifold gasket". I'm asking if anyone has any other ideas because that repair is pretty pricey.
- Slight knocking sound from car but when I put clutch on it goes? Then comes back when I take my foot off the clutch I drive a ford KA 2008 I had the clutch changed in May 2014 I have a feeling tho the guy didn't change it because he was taking ages to print me a receipt saying the printer needed ink I dunno I found it suspicious The gears are a little stiff too Any help? I'm in the uk thanks
- What could be causing my 2001 Ford Focus SE wagon to be overheating? Reservoir is full of coolant, new radiator hose put on not that long ago but the needle is almost in the red when I drive it. Could this be the water pump? If it were the bottom hose wouldn't I be very low or out of coolant?
- Rattle noise when I accelerate. Sounds like plastic hitting a fan? I have a 2003 Ford Focus. Just recently every time I accelerate I hear this rattle noise. The best way to describe it is when you take a piece of plastic and put it to a fan. Or take a baseball card to a bike tire. My check engine light came on and when I had that checked they said it's either the gas cap or I have a very small leak. Could these be connected? Car also makes that sound when I first turn it on.
