Anyone else drive an older Ford Taurus for Uber/Lyft?

Nope

Probably not.

Uber & Lyft don't allow "older" cars. If you have a Taurus new enough to qualify it still won't be a great choice. Taurus are generally bigger cars and therefore less fuel efficient and more costly to maintain - you'll have a hard time making a profit after you cover fuel & expenses. Its also not big enough to qualify as an Uber XL to get the higher fares.

Depends on what "older" means. I have an 01 Taurus and I know it doesn't qualify neither Uber or Lyft.

And I agree with Coffee. I don't know where you live, but here in California where gas prices are pretty absurd at around $3.30 - $3.60/gallon driving an obese, fuel inefficient car probably won't be very profitable.

No

  • Can I drive an older car long distance? I'm planning on buying an older car, either a 1984 Monte Carlo, 1999 Cadillac Eldorado, or a 2000 Ford Ranger and drive either one to Fort Polk from Miami since I'm PCSing there in a month. I was wondering is it a good idea to drive an older vehicle that far even if it is well maintained? Also how hard would it be to find parts and fix a classic car like the Monte Carlo?
  • Is anyone else growing tired of the worn out Ford Mustang? It seems like every couple of months there's another one. Come up with something completely new. Or bring back the Thunderbird. The Mustang is a chick car. These cars have no soul and no life in them period. Even the venerable Dodge and Chevy can't make a good car anymore.
  • Does anyone else notice when you fill the car at shell the tank isn't as full as say sainsbury? I only get 310 range on computer there against 350 with tesco. Or is it this just happens to me. Ford fiesta.
  • Does Anyone Else Think The 2015 Ford F-150 Looks Ugly? All the new features on the truck seem pretty promising… But the look of the truck isn't. I'm not sure if its just me but I think the new F-150 looks like a piece of garbage. I personally like the older generation models.
