Added (1). 2009 Ford Taurus Limited Misfiring. My car has a misfire in cylinder 2. Changed and gapped the spark plugs. Nothing. Changed the fuel injector… Still no improvement. Changed the oil as well. Went ahead and changed the coil pack, but that did not resolve the problem. As a matter of fact, after changing the coil pack the car now "sputters" slightly while in idle. Note: It appears to misfire a little less when O/D is off. No smoke is being emitted.

I would guess a worn CPS (camshaft position sensor)
So now you still haven't learned how to diagnose a misfire and will continue to waste your money throwing parts at it.
Going to give up and find a mechanic before you try to put an intake manifold gasket on it or find out afterwards the head gasket is leaking?
H so it needs maintenance.
It can cost more to try replacing parts ourself than allowing a technician to do so. He will follow diagnostic checks and have equipment to locate a more exact area of fault source. Eg coil lead. Plug. Coil. Etc and if it is in fact confined to one cylinder alone. Plus a diagnostic check will show up if we have a related issue. Garage is best and ideally a main dealer

- I have a 2008 Ford Taurus Limited. The air cond. Compressor is taking forever to engage? The problem gets worse the higher the outside temp. And when the car is idling. Freon level is normal, and the compressor is not short cycling. Any ideas? Forgot to add that the condenser fan is running non-stop at idle when compressor is not cycling.
- 2000 Ford Ranger Misfiring? I've got a 2000 Ford ranger 3.0 v6 that starting misfiring pretty bad yesterday. I had the code read and it said cylinders 4 and 6 were misfiring. I just replaced the spark plugs and wires about 2 weeks ago and have been driving it everyday with no problems until yesterday. Any ideas on what is causing it to misfire? Should I replace the two wires and plugs again or could it be the ignition coil or what? Any help is appreciated.
- I guess #4 cyclinder misfiring? For check i removed all plug wires one by one. When it came to no.4 idle didn't change. After this, i replaced rotor arm, plugs, wires, cap but still does same thing. i can see spark from cable to cap but with no idle changes @4 what can be the problem? 2.0 Ford pinto engine with weber 32/36
