Should i sell my japanese car to feel more American?

One day i woke up and i realized i was born in America, so it would make sense to drive an American car. It feels more natural. I own a Honda but i want to buy a Ford.

But i don't know if this is a good decision because asian cars are more reliable than american cars.

Is this a good decision or do you consider this stupid, just a phase, and unnecessary in your opinion? The whole point of this is just to "feel more american"

American company but they're all made overseas

You do know that a lot of Ford, Chrysler and GM branded cars are built outside of the US and that a lot of Hondas are built in the US, right?

If not, then you should learn… Something.

Since 1982, approximately 22.4 million Honda and Acura automobiles have been made in America, and Honda now operates an incredible 12 American manufacturing facilities, with No. 12 opening in 2016 in Marysville, Ohio.

That's not how the USA works.

1) It doesn't matter where Fords are built, ITS STILL AN AMERICAN CAR!

2) Most people here didn't even say if you should get the car 'Yes or No' because they were 'too scared to be criticized'

3) Some even suggested cars like Honda and Toyota are American because they are built here in the US. LOL. What a bunch of dumb answers

Anyways ill give you my answer… Should you buy an american car to feel more american? Yes, if it makes you feel more patriotic then go for it dude. There's nothing wrong with supporting the US. It doesn't mean your racist or ignorant. Buying American products is like supporting your local Baseball team. It feels natural and right.

Its a free country. Understand that when you change cars you usually lose thousands in value. All to get what might be a less reliable car?

If you like your car i think you should keep it

Quality of domestic vehicles isn't where it needs to be on a consistent basis for me to buy them.

Toyota and Honda have 55,000 workers making cars in the USA. Look at the sticker when you open the drivers door. The country of origin should be on it. It is in the vin number too. Only a few would fault you for driving the car of your choice.

Use which car is best for you.

Only one country left that patronises its own cars… France. At least 75% of cars in france are french built… I enjoy driving them… Nearly 40 years ago. I was in LA .met a guy called AL GORDON. He owned car spares stores… I told him then either you guys start making better cars or the japs will destroy you home market… Just like they did in uk… If its built in america who cares if the company is owned by an outside source?

  • Why don't American cars last as long as Japanese cars? My family has owned a Ford Taurus and a Nissan Altima of similar model years. Both cars are still running, but the Taurus has very low mileage (it's a 1999 with only 85,000 miles) and the interior is in horrible condition and the plastics Ford put in have been known for breaking. None of this has happened with the Altima, even though it has more miles. Why?
  • Would a V6 in a smaller car feel the same to drive as a V8 in a larger & heavier car? I'm a young driver and I've driven a few V6s before such as a Ford Mustang, Suzuki Grand Vitara, and a Ford Explorer. I want to buy a used Land Rover L3 which is a V8 and i was wondering if the power would be way too much for me. Or would it feel pretty much the same because Land Rovers are much larger and heavier than Mustangs and Suzukis? I don't know much about cars so your answers are greatly appreciated.
  • Is american Built Toyota's are of same quality of the Japanese? I'm planing to buy a highlander limited due to my bad credit situation, only toyota is giving me a car as i have enough credit experience with them do you think toyotas built in the USA are of same quality of the japanese made? i mean the known toyota quality reliability and so and i was looking into the edge as ford credit might be another option who is better in long term quality and reliability?
  • What i should try to do to convince a car company to sell me its concept cars? There are many concept cars I see and think "man I would love that" and I know that concept cars usually go the way of the crusher, so I'm wondering, anybody know what I should do if I wanted to buy a concept vehicle and protect it from the crusher? Say I wanted to buy the Jeep Nukizer or Mighty FC, or some of the Ford or Chevy concepts that are so interesting. What would I do if I wanted to buy them?
