Should I buy a Ford GT if I have the money?

A 2005 Ford GT red with white racing stripes has always been my ultimate dream car. After I graduate college, and get my career where I'd make an average of $75,000 a year. I plan on saving up to buy one, which would take at least 5 years. Would a Ford GTs insurance make a Corvettes insurance look cheap in comparison, even after driving a Corvette for 8 years with no accidents.

I have a buddy that has a 2006. His insurance (although he's 48) is sky-high. It's not because of his record or anything, it's because the car costs So MUCH to replace if totaled. What you drove in the past means nothing.

By the way, don't expect them to drop in value at all. And, making $75K a year won't get you in that club.

Also… How tall are you? I'm 6'4", and I can't get into my buddy's car. The thing literally comes up to my waist. No. I'm pretty sure you'll find out it is probably not what you expected it to be after a test drive. For what it is, a Corvette is fairly practical. NO… Find a classic car or a Mercedes-Benz Compressor… Very few college graduates START their career at $75k. $35k-$50k is more realistic, so getting your dream car may be further away than you hope. The difference in Insurance, would only amount to a few hundred dollars a year. Save up, pay cash, all good. Remember that a Ford GT was so expensive to keep running that even Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear finally had to get rid of his. And yes, the insurance would make Corvette insurance look cheap.

$75,000 a year is not enough of a salary to afford a Ford GT.
