Should I buy a 1977-1979 or a newer model 2010+ Ford truck?
I'm looking into getting another truck. For some reason my gut is telling me to get an older carbureted truck. Nothing beats the feeling of driving an old American 4x4 truck. But newer trucks are safer and get better mpg. Looking for some input on this decision.
Old, always. If your handy, you can repair them yourself, and most parts are bolt ons. Carburateurs arnt as reliable, however, can again, be fixed by yourself often. Safety shouldn't be a concern, as long as you drive mindfull of the fact that it's not as safe. As for mpg, just keep the carby tuned. I wish I had a choice in what year I could drive. Stuck with my fuel injected 89 tbird, until I can sell it for a 70s camaro
Get the newer F150. Cheaper parts, cheaper/less frequent maintenance, and it's safer. Safety should be a concern, the newer one will have more up-to-date safety standards.

- What model is my 1977 ford Ambulance? I have a 1977 Ford ambulance, and I'm meeting to figure out what the model is. I'm not sure if it is a E350 or E250, i'm not sure it might even be an Econolog, The Vin number is E37AHY29843. The title says that it's empty weight is 3400 pounds The style is PK and the class code is 001 The reason I'm needing it is because I'm going to be purchasing new brake pads and miscellaneous parts. And need to know what model I need to order for.

- Should I get a newer truck? I have a standard 4x4 86 Ford ranger. It has a 2.9l v6 with 350,000 miles on it and 4 speed auto. It is starting to have issues and needs new tires. For me to fix it I would cost about 1,000 in parts and another 1,000 for tires. I'm wondering if it's time to get a new truck or just try to fix this one.
