Restoring old Ford Transit. Can't get engine to start. Any ideas please?

Friend is restoring 1976 Transit Diesel. Dry stored and in excellent condition.
Re-conditioned injectors, clean fuel. Engine turns over valve-gear working (belt intact). Compression, fuel at injectors, no air in system engine turning over with new battery. Apparently no heater plugs on this engine (2.4). Tried eze-start just 'coughs' but will not actually start. At wits end!
Any ideas please?

The "re-conditioned injectors" part Is a little suspicious. Those things are very easy to mess up during installation.

Check the pump timing.

  • Old Ford Transit. Won't stop A mate is restoring a 1976 Ford Transit Pickup. It has a Ford 'York' 2.4 Diesel engine. The engine has been re-built and runs like a dream but it won't stop without stalling it! There appears to be some sort of electrical mechanism resembling a wiper motor with a cable so… How would that work? Anyone any ideas please? Totally puzzled!
  • Is a 1963 Ford Thunderbird Landau worth restoring? I have a 1963 Ford Thunderbird Landau I'm wanting more to restore. It's fairly complete. Only missing the back window but does have some rust. I have a guy to fix all rust for around 4,000, paint is $1,500 and interior is around 1,500. Is it worth it to restore?
  • Ford F-150 Truck started, ran rough. Now won't start at all. Any ideas? 1977 Ford F-150 with carburetor, 8 cylinders. After several attempts, it started immediately (without the usual starter crank-up sound), ran loud & rough like a lawnmower. I turned it off, now it won't start. Starter is strong, battery full, airfilter good, fresh fuel is reaching the carb. Weather is hot and slightly humid. Anyone have a guess?
  • Can you put any engine in any car? I have heard of people putting like a Nissan engine in Ford car. Can you do that with basically any car and engine?
