Will a manual transmission from a 1995 ford ranger 3.0 work in a 1994 ford ranger with 4.0?
Yup. Same transmission.
Bell housings will be different so no it won't work
The 4.0 is the Taunus/ Cologne Bellousing, the 3.0 is the Vulcan. They say they MAY interchange. Look up Ford Bellhousings.

- Will a 1993 3.0 Ford Ranger engine fit and work with my 1995 Ford ranger that has a bad motor? My 1995 ford ranger 3.0 5 speed ran hot and cracked the heads and spun a bearing. Will a 3.0 out of a 1993 Ford Ranger fit and work? My concerns are the 1993 has a distributor and my 1995 does not. Are the water pumps and accessories the same?
- Possible engine swap from 3.0 to 4.0 on 1994 Ford Ranger XL 4x4 manual? I'm wondering if I can drop a V6 4.0L engine straight into a V6 3.0L Ford Ranger XL? Both are 1994 ford rangers, everything the same as far as model/year just different size engine… And if not, what would need to be converted? I found a 4.0 for $250 with 0 miles so if its as simple as swapping engines/trannys I'm going to go for it… Thanks for help!
- My 1995 ford ranger broke its transmission? We thought it was a transfer case but it ended up breaking a price inside the transmission. I don't know what it is called but it goes from the front all the way into the transfer case. And it also snapped the bracket that goes between the transmission and transfer case.
