Why isn't my fuel pump turning on?
I have a 1997 ford ranger and the fuel pump doesn't turn on when you turn the key. I replaced the pump and it does the same thing. No purging sound like usual. What else could it be if not the actual fuel pump. I need all possibilities please.
Did you check the relay? Did you check for power going to the fuel pump?
Your fuel pump won't turn on? Wow. Have you taken it out to eat? Do you bring it presents? Do you compliment it?
There's a inertia switch that shuts power off to the pump in case of a accident check it first usually its under the dash drivers side it usually has a red button but i've seen them white too Or look in your owners manual to locate it
Here is the diagram.
- Location of 1998 Ford Taurus fuel pump. Does it have a fuel cut-off switch? Car shut down suddenyl without warning. New battery and cranks but will not start. Suspect bad fuel filter, 130K miles and fuel filter has never been replaced.
- My 1999 ford ranger has 20 lbs of pressure on the fuel line. Do i need a fuel pump? After I tested the pressure and shut the motor off the pressure went down to 0 quick. When I just turn the key I don't get any pressure
- On my 2000 ford mustang why does my air pump (smog pump) only blow air for 5 seconds after start up? Is that normal? I have p0411 secondary air injection system insufficient flow detected. I've checked the hose that comes out from the pump, it's blowing air but I believe it should blow air for much longer than 5 seconds on start up.
- When changing the power steering pump on a KA (54) can you use PTFE tape to seal the pressure line from pump? I have changed the power steering pump on a ford KA (54) and when removing the pressure line from the pump there was some kind of seal on it but I don't know what it was, so I was hopping that PTFE tape would do the same job at sealing the thread. Any help please. Andy.
