What would be better for me? Ford Ranger or Ford F-150?
I'm 15 and I can get my permit in a week. I know its earl but I've been looking on Craigslist for 4x4 trucks just to get an idea.
All I would use it for is to go from school to work to home, haul my dirt bike or four-wheeler to my friends house once in awhile.
I'm putting my price limit at $4000 dollars.
The Ford Ranger is going to get you better fuel economy, can be bought for fairly cheap and modified (lift kit, etc.) for less than the F-150.
Both are good trucks so it depends on which one you like better. Most people that choose the Ranger do it because of fuel mileage mainly. If you plan on carrying a bunch of your buddies around, get the f150 because the Ranger is too small for that, even with a extended cab model. The f150 is gonna burn more fuel and be higher on insurance, but it has more room and power. The Ranger is better on gas and will have cheaper insurance, but its not as roomy. My Ranger has 298,000 miles and the only things I've replaced besides maintenance items is the clutch, a few sensors, and the transmission, but I let a transmission leak continue and it tore the transmission up so it didn't go out due to mileage. If I was still in high school and had my choice, it would be a Ranger with a extended cab,3-4" lift kit, decent rims/tires,4.0 liter engine or a Ranger with extended cab, lowered 2-3", decent rim/tires,4.0 liter engine.Believe me, you'll be very happy with the power of a 4.0 liter.
Ranger probably, smaller, easier to handle in tight spaces, and better on gas
- Would a long travel suspension kit built for a Ford Ranger Edge/Sport also fit on a Ranger XLT? I found a long travel suspension kit made for a 2002 ranger edge/sport but I have a XLT same year. Would it still fit on and function the same?
- Why would people buy a Toyota Hilux when they can buy a better, superior Ford Ranger? I owned a 2010 Toyota Camry and it broke down in 2011 upon reaching 0.6k miles. I treated it like a baby and it failed and disappointed me. My friend also owned a 2008 Toyota Tacoma and it failed to start in 2009 upon reaching 8k miles. And the mechanic said it was impossible to fix. However, my uncle has a 1965 Ford Falcon with over 750k miles on its clock and it still runs like new and he never even changed its oil since he bought it.
- Which is better? 1995 ford ranger which is stick or a 2004 Ford Escape? I'm a 16 year old boy and I'm lucky enough to have those two cars to choose from. Both have high mileage, like 350k on the ranger and 250k for the escape. Both have been serviced to a T. I really don't know which car would be best in the Long run. Meaning I don't know which one is most reliable and which one would be best for me and my use of maybe hauling my friends around. So which one do you think is the best choice?
- Will a leveling kit made for a 2009 F-150 fit on a 2008 F-150? I'm trying to buy a leveling kit off of a friend but he has a 2009 F-150. I have a 2008 Limited F-150.Was curious to know if Ford still kept the same spring and shock design from 2008/2009.
