Leave the stock intake tract alone. It does the job just fine.

It came from the factory with a cold air intake. Swapping it with an aftermarket will actually get you less performance due to air turbulence. Read this article

A cold air intake or ram air intake? Either one may only provide a few hp at best unless you flash the ECU so it Really doesn't matter. 3-5 hp is all you will maybe get.

  • Why does my cold air intake make my car super slow? I bought a cold air intake for my 2015 ford taurus put it on and lost power alot of power. I didn't use the normal air intake tubing i stayed with the tubing that comes in the car and put a filter at the end and reconnected the one sensor. Now my friend did this to his car and it gave him more power i don't know why mine loses power
  • Can i unplug my mass air flow sensor to get my cold air intake to work better on my 2015 ford taurus? When i put the cold air intake on my car it went really slow so if I unplug the sensor would it fix that problem
  • Why is my 93 ford ranger 5 speed 3.0 heater now blowing out cold air? I have a 93 ford ranger. Last winter the heater worked descent. Blowing above warm air. Not as warm as my newer model car but it worked. The beginning of this winter it wasn't quite as warm as last year. Within 2-3 weeks its now blowing out cold air (defrost panel floor all vents). Last night at roughly 25-30 degrees I drove it approx. 10 miles occasionally turning heater/defrost on to try to defrost windshield some and upon returning home it sounded like boiling water under the hood.
  • How dangerous is water to a cold air intake? I have a 1999 Ford Ranger that I recently bought and it has pretty bad gas mileage and I'd like to fix that and the power behind the engine. Where I live we get pretty significant rain fall and some small puddles that you end up having to drive through. The last think I want to do is hydro lock my engine. Are heavy rain and small puddles actually a danger for hydro locking a CAI? Even if I were to buy one of the waterproof jackets?
