What common problems do Ford Rangers have?
I'm looking into buying a used Ford Ranger (2000 or newer) but I've heard that certain years have head gasket, clutch and transmission problems. I've read 2002 Rangers are known for warped head gaskets. Any other years I should avoid?
I have never heard of any problems with rangers. In fact they were thought to be and voted the most reliable small pick up on the market. I've had two 2003, both with over 170000 miles and no issues. And i didn't take it easy on them, i hauled and towed constantly(boats, eqpt, etc) and took some serious road trips in these things and didn't second guess them once. However my wiper fluid button stopped working on one once!
None. The only problem my dad had with his is that he hit a pole.

- Did ford ever put a V8 in any of the Rangers? I'm wondering if Ford ever made a Ford Ranger with a V8 engine. I know for a fact that they put a 4 cylinder and V6's in them and I know they put V8's in Ford Explorer's but I have no idea if they put them in the Ranger
- What are the common problems does a ford mustang gt have? I'm tryng to buy a ford mustang gt 2002 and i want to know if those cars are bad or not and if the parts are expensive and if they waste to much gas
- Are overheating transmissions common on Ford EL Falcon GLIs? About 2 days ago our Ford EL Falcon GLI developed a problem with its transmission where there was a shudder and slow acceleration during start and stop operations in severe traffic and eventual transmission oil overflow. The transmission now runs normally after cooling down.
